Studying Physiotherapy
I have been studying physiotherapy at Oxford Brookes University for one year, and I am thoroughl enjoying it. I am sure each university varies in its course content, however so far I have studied the anatomy of the upper and lower limbs, as well as doing an introduction to physio which included things such as movement analysis, massage, electrotherapy and some treatment techniques.
I have found the past year very hard. As a result I struggled through doing many resits, and eventually I have had to retake part of my first year, as I cannot go onto second year without passing all the modules.
Overall, my main piece of advice to anyone intending to study physio is to put every effort into doing well. The workload is enormous, and the amount of detail you are expected to learn is incredible. This is why I would urge people to make suere it is exactly what they want to do before they apply. Make sure you use your tutors well - ask every single question possible, no matter how silly it may seem. Use the libraries as much as you can, but most of all, physio is a practical course, make sure you every movement and technique you learn, you practice on your fellow students and also your families and friends.
