An Evening at the Races – Newcastle-upon-Tyne

It was a perfect day, warm and sunny, for the first Minerva event to be held in the North East. The venue for An Evening at the Races was Newcastle Racecourse at High Gosforth Park. For many in the group this was their first visit to a race meeting.

The event began with an informative tour of the tack room where we were given a fascinating insight into the racing world. Afterwards we were shown to our box for welcoming tea and scones. From the box we had an excellent view of the parade ring and winning post with the whole racecourse spread out before us.

The evening was very relaxed. We enjoyed meeting and chatting to other Minerva members, the excitement of placing our bets and cheering our horses home.

The event was a great success and for some this will not be our last visit to a race meeting.

Best wishes,
