Birkenhead Old Girls' Society
The BHS Old Girls' Society is a flourishing concern of over 1,700 members which exists to keep people in touch with each other and to provide an opportunity for past pupils and staff to meet informally.
Two meetings are held in School each year -our annual June Reunion and our AGM in September and from time to time a dinner to celebrate a special occasion - e.g. the Centenary Dinner and Concert in June 2001. Additionally, we have a regular monthly programme of local outings and pub lunches for those living locally.
Our Southern Group meetings are lunches held twice a year in London and in Cheltenham. These are organised by Dianna Apps (the Southern Secretary). All former pupils are welcome! Contact Diana by e-mail at: dianaapps@btinternet.com to find out more and to go on her mailing list of Southern Members of the Society.
Our popular Newsletter is published each Autumn - 80 or more pages full of interesting photographs, short news items and longer letters from girls and staff of all generations. Do send us news of yourself and your friends for inclusion in it. (Our Newsletter Editor is Mrs. Angela Bolton, 3 Church Meadow Lane, Heswall, CH60 4SB.) New members receive a complimentary copy and members receive our annual letter, UPDATE containing details of all meetings.
Every five years we publish a Register of Members - the most recent being the Millennium edition.
Are you looking for a friend? We may yet be able to help you as we retain lists of many former pupils.
If interested in joining the Old Girls' Society, please contact Mrs. Erica Bastow, Membership Secretary philanderica@talktalk.net for an application form.
