HSBC Three Month Female only Internship Programme 2008

Once again HSBC are working with the Girls’ Day School Trust to recruit six pre university female students on to a three month training programme which will run from mid September until the mid December 2008.

Recruitment

The Girls’ Day School Trust will provide HSBC with a short list of twelve candidates from across the UK. The selection criteria has been agreed with the HSBC Graduate Team to assist in a short list process. An application form has been developed focusing on the key capabilities used for HSBC Graduate Recruitment; Leadership, Drive and Personal Development and Customer Drive.

The twelve short listed candidates will be invited to have a face to face criteria based interview at our Global Head Quarters which will be conducted by members of the Graduate Recruitment Team.   

Retention and Remuneration

A salary of £15,000 per annum (pro rated) will be paid plus territorial allowance where applicable. In addition, a £1,000 bursary will be paid upon acceptance of a job offer on our Undergraduate First Year Summer Internship Programme. A £2,000 grant will be paid to candidates who are successful and join one of our full time Graduate Programmes once graduating from university, in addition to a joining bonus.

Programme Structure

A one day Induction to introduce students to HSBC’s customer groups, key products and values.

One month Head Office, London based placement. Placement selection will be based on business sponsorship availability, within areas such as Government Relations, Internal Communications and Commercial Banking. 

Two month Retail branch placement based in a major city across the UK.
